½ Rim Info

The ½ Rim is a companion race to the annual Rim2Rim Race that is the major fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity of the Magic Valley. It is a new race, added in 2009, that was added for the younger and older set. The ½ Rim Race starts at the Sportsman’s Warehouse Store’s back parking lot and travels down the Canyon Rim trail under the Perrine Bridge and then down the Centennial Grade to the Canyon Springs Golf Club, crosses over the water pipe bridge up into the Blue Lakes Country Club and finishes at Blue Lakes. The Race is just short of ½ the distance of the full Rim to Rim, which is 7.5 miles.

Race Time and Date

  • The ½ Rim will be held on September 15th 2012
  • Runners and Walkers Start at 9:30 am
  • The Race Starts at the parking lot of the Sportsman’s Warehouse Store and finishes at Blue Lakes Country Club. Busses will shuttle participants back to their cars.
  • Number Pick-up and Race Day Registration will be at 8:30 am to 9:15 am on the east side of the Sportsman’s Warehouse Parking Lot.

Donate:  $25 Racer Challenge

Racers are challenged to gain donation pledges for Habitat for Humanity of the Magic Valley.  Help us to help others by raising money to build simple decent and affordable homes in the Magic Valley. A big prize goes to the first, second and third place pledge gatherers.  A minimal donation of $25 from each racer could build the entire walls of an additional home this year.  Every little bit helps to bring a family home.

Prizes

  • All finishers receive a medal
  • Racers that submit donation pledge forms by September 3th are eligible for prizes for the racer that brings in the most donations
  • Racers are also entered into raffles for various door prizes

Post Race Party

World famous Clear Springs Trout, salad, and cold beverages are included in the race cost for all race participants. Family members are welcome to purchase lunch tickets for $10.00 at the registration desk the day of the race. The Party will be held at Blue Lakes Country Club.
