2012 Home Builders Blitz

Share your expertise and help build stronger families, better neighborhoods and brighter futures in our community.

  • Home Builders Blitz 2012is a partnership between Habitat for Humanity and the building industry to build homes across the nation.
  • In additionto new home construction, Habitat’s Home Builders Blitz 2012 will offer new opportunities for partnerships with builders whose specialty may be outside of new residential construction. The Blitz will include rehabs and substantial repairs that follow the same Habitat model as new homes.
  • Endorsed by the National Association of Home Builders, the Home Builders Blitz supports Habitat’s vision of “a world where everyone has a decent place to live.”
  • In 2012, Habitat for Humanity will build, rehabilitate or repair more than 200 homes as part of its Home Builders Blitz program, with work on many of these homes finishing the week of June 4.

How it works

 • Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat recruits local professional builders to partner with Habitat and coordinate the project through completion. o Habitat for Humanity acquires land, develops the sites and provides house plans and permits. o Builders provide donated labor and materials and help with fund raising. o Habitat selects homebuyers based on their family selection criteria.
